On November 22, 2013, my grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary!
My mom and aunt spent months planing a beautiful open house party to celebrate their parents, and although my grandparents fought it (because they didn't want the attention), the event was a huge success. Over 100 people came to the open house, and my grandparents were honored publicly for their years together, as well as their years of service to their church and community.
My parents had flewn Dan and I home for the weekend so we could be a part of the celebration. And...the party fell at the perfect time to share our big news. It meant so much to tell family and friends, especially my grandparents, about our pregnancy in person! The weekend was full of laughter, happy tears, and of course, delicious food!

The day after the party, we all spent the afternoon at my grandparent's house. Yiayia and Papou opened their cards/gifts, we looked more closely at the slideshow Mom had put together, and we ate the leftovers from the party.

Meanwhile, back in CO...
Sydney spent the weekend with our friends Kyle and Andrea and their dog Ruprick. I got a kick out of all of the pictures Andrea would send throughout the weekend. As you can see, Sydney loves her crate and spent time in there even with the door wide open...
Keep Smiling...
