Our good friends Sarah and Drew hosted a BBQ on Saturday afternoon. It was an excuse to all get together one more time before everyone moved, and to celebrate the graduates. They were gracious enough to open their home to friends and everyone's extended family. The weather was perfect. The food was delicious. And there were many photo opportunities taken advantage of (courtesy of my mom and others). Going through these photos stirs up mixed emotions. I'm so thankful to have this afternoon documented so well, but it makes me miss everyone that much more.
Dan's parents and grandmother met us at the party after their long day of driving. We were so glad to see them!

Our friends seriously have the cutest kids of all time.
Bill had a special gift for all of the 4th year guys. It was so thoughtful!
Leaving the party was sad but we all avoided saying our "final" good bye because we didn't want to admit it was the last time we'd all be together.
As we were walking to the car, my mom hugged me and with tears in her eyes, she smiled and said, "You have nice friends." She didn't have to say anything else. That simple line was enough to carry the meaning behind her words. Dan and I were blessed with incredible friends during the med school season of life. It's something special and rare, and we're thankful for each and every person God placed in our life while we lived in Erie. We look forward to keeping in touch across the miles...as families continue to grow, and as we all begin the next season of life.
Keep Smiling...

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures! We are really going to miss your smile and sweet spirit. Love from Erie :-)
